1. Boudoir Photography = Nude Photography

It doesn’t matter if you’re wearing lingerie, a potato sack, or nothing at all. The only purpose of a Red Umbrella Boudoir Experience is to EMPOWER YOU. It is not to make you uncomfortable. It is not to shame you. It is not to exploit your vulnerability.  There is only ONE PERSON who dictates how far you need to go with your experience in order to reveal your INNER GODDESS, and that is YOU. You don’t have to jump up and down on the bed in your birthday suit to feel empowered, though if you choose to do so you will not be judged for it. YOU DECIDE.

2. I need to loose weight! I am not a model. Lingerie and me are not friends! I am ugly.

Who you are in this very moment is exactly who you should be as you begin this journey. I’ve photographed every age, size, shape, color, sexual orientation, mothers, mothers-to-be, and many more and the results are always the same. GORGEOUS photos of GORGEOUS, brave people. There are too many things in this life that we choose not to experience because we don’t match society’s beauty standards. 3. I am so awkward in front of a camera! I have no idea how to pose!! I am definitely not photogenic!!

I get you!! I also feel like that. However you will quickly forget about my camera. (He is SUPER and will definitely LOVE you.) I will guide you through many poses to capitalize your best features. Yes, you too have features that make you look stunning. I will find them and my camera will love them and capture them perfectly. After your hair and makeup is done you will feel ready for the camera. You will quickly relax while listening to music. The beautiful, romantic setting and personalized care will make you feel like a superstar and it will show in your photos. You may have walked in unsure and hesitant, but I promise you will walk out with a HUGE smile, feeling like a million dollars ready to conquer the world.

4. I will be judged for it.

Your Red Umbrella Boudoir Experience will be exactly what you want it to be. There will be an element of sexuality and sensuality, which is incredibly personal. There are bound to be feelings of vulnerability and the fear of being judged. It is not for anyone but you to decide what makes you feel like a GODDESS. I’m there as a facilitator, and to capture it in the art of photography. I DO NOT JUDGE. I will celebrate with you when you discover that inner GODDESS and welcome her into your life! No one else will see these photographs unless you choose to share them. You can even decide this is your little secret!  I however have several referrals because someone like you chose to share these beautiful pictures and experience with a special someone else and inspired them to also start their journey to EMPOWERMENT!

5. My photos will be on the Internet for EVERYONE to see!

NO, NO, NO! As the client, YOU decide what I can use, if any, for promotional purposes. After your shoot is over, you will go through the photographs to choose your favorites. You will also decide if there are any photographs you are willing to let me use for my portfolio and for other promotional use such as Facebook and my website. I require EXPLICIT PERMISSION in writing before I post a boudoir photograph online. If you decide you do not want your photographs posted online then this is completely fine too. They are your pictures to do with as you see fit. I shoot a lot of my promo work with willing models for this reason!

6. I don’t have someone (a partner/ significant other) to do this for.

Yes, you do! This experience is for YOU. These photographs are for YOU above all else. Sure, lots of people have these sessions done so that they can give their partner a gift they will never forget, and of course that’s a wonderful idea. However, first and foremost, an experience with Red Umbrella Boudoir is a gift to YOU!
