What to wear to your Boudoir Experience
I have been asked many times if I have any suggestions about what to wear to a Boudoir Experience at Red Umbrella Boudoir in Destin, Florida. The answer is there are many great items you can choose right out of your own closet. Not every item needs to be lingerie….
BRA & PANTY SET
Choose at least one bra and panty set. Be sure to try on items to make sure they have a proper fit before your session. You may still have some lingerie from years ago that you just have not thrown out because it is still perfectly good…however, since you have not worn it in years, it may not fit the same. Those pounds gained or lost in the mean time may have other plans for those previously perfect lingerie sets. Try them on and make sure you still feel glamorous in it.
Bra tip: If you are a B or smaller find a bra that has lace around the top of the cup. It will make you look a whole size bigger in photos.

THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX
Have fun with your outfit choices and jewelry. Yes, don’t forget jewelry, more on that in a minute. You can choose bright colors and even be super wild by wearing mismatched bra and panties. Wear your favorite pair of cowgirl boots and cowgirl hat or if you feel a nurse’s outfit will be hot fun – go for it! Try out something totally off the wall and have fun with it! It will enhance your experience at Red Umbrella Boudoir!

Bring something that belongs to your guy (or lady). One of their button-up shirts or even one of their ties are good options. If either of you are sports fans wear a sports jersey with some knee high socks. You could even take it a step further and order your favorite team jersey with your name on it or with some other type of phrase that fits the session. Be creative. The more you put into it, the bigger the payoff!
IN YOUR CLOSET
Look through your closet for a see through or lace blouse, a soft sweater you can pull off your shoulders, a vest or sleeveless sweater. Any unique or cropped tops can be cute with panties too. Again, be creative and look at your everyday clothes in a new way.
ALL ABOUT THE GIRLS
A bustier with built in cups is the girls best friend! The secret here is the built in cups. The bustiers/ corsets without them may make you look flat chested. Try it on and model it before the mirror to make sure the girls look their best!
LEGS, LEGS AND MORE LEGS
I confess to have a weakness for fishnets and or thigh highs (is it just me?) I feel this is a must for every Boudoir Experience, but again, this depends on you. Do you like them? Have you tried them on? Don’t diss it before you tried it. This may be outside of your comfort zone, but a Boudoir Experience let you explore those areas where you have never tread before! It may not be you and that is 100%, but I do challenge you to try these magical creations. I do suggest if you plan to wear them with a garter belt, buy the kind without the plastic stay ups. If you plan to not wear a garter then the plastic stay ups are a must.
MAKE A STATEMENT
Don’t forget jewelry. A statement necklace can be cool for a few images . Bring a few sets of earrings and rings as well. Long necklaces make for great props and short colorful pieces can add drama. Pearls are one of my favorites. Jewelry has the power to transform a snap shot into a glamour shot.
THREE INCHES OR MORE
And last but not least, don’t forget to bring some killer high heels! Nude heels can go with many outfit choices. Black heels are a staple. However, anything strappy, studded or with bling is a winner. a must bring. The higher the better. I say this but a girl shoed up at a shoot once with the most amazing bright red combat boots. They were amazing and engraved her signature style on the session.

… AND FOR THE GUYS
There is nothing more sexy (for me) than a denim and maybe a button down shirt to start with. The session can progress as you get undressed. Any underwear that makes you feel like the boss, works. You need to feel sexy and confident in in it. All of the above is of cause also valid for you. If your 6 inch Christian Louboutins make you feel powerful and you have the perfect pair of earrings, then that is what you should be wearing.
You do not have to spend loads of money on a whole new “boudoir wardrobe.” To make the Boudoir Experience your experience hit up your closet (and his) and your jewelry box.
